Welcome to our little preschool! We believe that healthy development requires community, love, and respect for the individual. Our community is made up of parents, our church, our preschool board, teachers, and myself as the director. Each of us play a part, to support our children by cheering them on and helping them grow and learn
This is my eighth year as a part of this community, fourth year as director. I've been a parent, church member, board member, teacher, and director. As a parent, I know what it's like to leave your first born on the first day of school, to cope with challenges, to celebrate successes, and to watch your last baby graduate from the fours. I am so excited to share these memories with your family!
I so hope that GUMS becomes a second home for your child and the relationships built with families and staff continue throughout your child’s education.

Families can choose to participate in our co-op inspired organization where each family plays a role in enhancing our school through hospitality, fundraising, and general support. Families who choose to participate in the co-op will receive a $25 per month discount on tuition. Families who are unable to commit to a co-op role may still participate by volunteering in class and school activities when their time allows.
Church and Board Support
Meet Pastor Dong Eun
Every other week, our preschoolers go to Chapel with Pastor Dong Eun. This is a special time in the school week where children learn about, ask questions, and grow in faith. We also sing songs, share stories, and explore the church! It is so much fun! Pastor Dong Eun is also a friendly face in our school, whether it's just a quick "Hi" as we're walking down the sidewalk, participating in special events, or attending programs.
Our Preschool Board
Our Preschool Board is structured with the purpose of guiding leadership and decision making on a broad level. We are made up of nine members representing our church, families, and staff. We meet 4-6 times a year and make decisions such as registration policies, tuition, and scheduling of our classes. Board members are the community's voice in these decisions!
Our community extends beyond our classrooms and into our church family. We collaborate and partner together with our Trunk-or-Treat, Art Show, and more. Many of our children in our preschool choose to participate in GUMC's egg hunt and Vacation Bible School.
Our preschool is a ministry of Glyndon United Methodist Church, which is a fancy church word that means our church loves us, cares for us, and believes our preschool is an important part of our community.
